Baltimore @ Denver

Denver wins. Peyton Manning and his plethora of weapons have a proverbial chip on their respective shoulder…including newly acquired Wes Welker (who has a chip on his shoulder for his own reasons); They’re ready to show the world that what happened to them at the hands of the Ravens last season in the playoffs was a fluke and it should have been them playing in the Super Bowl.

New England @ Buffalo

Equation for a Patriot victory. Tom Brady + Bill Belichick = Patriots once again own the division…and Buffalo this week.

Miami @ Cleveland

Cleveland wins because Brandon Weeden and the Browns defense will show their growth and stopping Trent Richardson could be a daunting task for Miami.

Seattle @ Carolina

Seattle wins. A lack of weapons will hamstring the progression of Cam Newton and the chances of success he’ll have against Seattle’s stout defense…arguably the best in the NFL.

Cincinnati @ Chicago

This game will be a game of defenses with both probably forcing multiple turnovers, but Geno Atkins and the Bengal front seven will get the last laugh as they’ll plague the Bears offensive line and Jay Cutler all day long. Bengals win in a close game.

Minnesota @ Detroit

Christian Ponder won’t have to outright win this game, just manage it as Adrian Peterson will carry the load and show Detroit why he truly is the best running back in the league and how he has a shot to break the single-season rushing record. Minnesota wins thanks to a HUGE game by Adrian Peterson.

Oakland @ Indianapolis

Indianapolis is hosting the Raiders….ENOUGH SAID!

Kansas City at Jacksonville

The offense of Kansas City will finally match the skill of the defense. Look for Andy Reid to learn from his mistake in Philly and actually utilize his thoroughbred running back Jamaal Charles. Alex Smith will continue to improve and his teaming up with the offensive minded Andy Reid should prove beneficial for Kansas City.

Atlanta @ New Orleans

The Saints defense isn’t good enough to stop “The Mattural” and all the weapons he has even with the obvious rejuvenation that’s likely to happen with Sean Payton returning. Plus Atlanta added a healthy Steven Jackson (the NFL’s active leading rusher) and that’s going to give Saints new defensive coordinator Rob Ryan nightmares.

Tampa Bay @ New York Jets

Jets = Worst team in the NFL. Revis gets his revenge on his former team while giving the young Geno Smith a few “welcome to the NFL nightmares”. Doug Martin and Vincent Jackson are poised to have an offensive explosion in this game as long as Josh Freeman can play mistake free football.

Tennessee @ Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is aging and declining, and a once again fully engaged and motivated Chris Johnson could prove to be a big problem for Pittsburgh.

Green Bay @ San Francisco

Green Bay once again will be able to put up points but will continue to have a suspect defense who can’t stop anyone or get off the field on third down. Colin Kaepernick will continue to impress and should have a repeat performance against the Packers. The loss of Michael Crabtree will hurt the 49ers a bit, but the addition of Anquan Boldin should only prove to be helpful to Kaepernick’s continued success.

Arizona @ St. Louis

Weapons, weapons, and more weapons at Sam Bradford’s disposal will be very impressive this season. The addition of rookie Tavon Austin will electrify the city of St. Louis not only as a wide receiver but also in the kick and punt return games. Not to mention Arizona has a weak offensive line and St. Louis tied for the most sacks last season.

New York Giants @ Dallas

Dallas will finally get a home victory in AT&T Stadium against their rival Giants. Dallas newly reformed defense will force turnovers, and the Romo to Dez combination will be HUGE!

Philadelphia @ Washington

RGIII returns, Philly defense is suspect and Washing defense will hit Vick again, and again, and again. This is a favorable matchup for Washington as they have a potent rushing attack and on the defensive side of the ball they’re getting Brian Orakpo back from his torn pectoral. Add Orakpo to the likes of the never aging London Fletcher and the severely underrated Ryan Kerrigan and that’s only going to scare offenses even more.

Houston @ San Diego

San Diego is a team in shambles. This could be a make or break year for Philip Rivers and it doesn’t look like they’re going to get off to a good start this season either. Houston’s defense and their ability to control the clock with their running game will cause major problems for San Diego. Throw into that mix the defense lining up across from Rivers and the fact that he’s not the most mobile or agile quarterback means that Houston and the reigning Defensive Player of the Year, J.J. Watt will have plenty of opportunities to put Rivers on his back!
